The Spirit of Giving can Travel Far—and Sometimes, it Arrives Wearing Pink
In the heart of Cebu, where holiday lights glowed softly against December skies, foodpanda set out to deliver something far more meaningful than meals. Through Pasko Na, We Gotchu: Christmas PANDAriwang, the team carried with them bundles of warmth, care, and comfort—gifts for those spending the season within hospital walls.

At the Cebu City Medical Center, a public hospital still recovering from recent calamities, the days often felt long and heavy. Yet on this special visit, the air shifted. Volunteers stepped quietly into wards, their arms full of colorful fruit baskets, while partner riders rolled in with hundreds of ready-to-eat meals—nourishment for both patients and the staff who cared for them tirelessly.

For the children in the pediatric ward, the day turned unexpectedly magical. Soft plushies, specially prepared for tiny hands, brought bursts of delight and brightened a place usually filled with the hum of machines and whispered reassurances. What could have been an ordinary hospital afternoon blossomed into a moment they would remember—a small holiday story of its own.
But foodpanda’s mission didn’t end with the patients. Doctors who worked back-to-back shifts, nurses who carried the weight of endless responsibilities, and security personnel who stood guard day after day were all greeted with warm meals and heartfelt thanks. It was a quiet acknowledgment of their unwavering commitment, especially in one of the busiest seasons of the year.

Then came a visitor who made the celebration complete. Pau-Pau, foodpanda’s beloved mascot, waddled room to room with cheerful waves and playful charm. Smiles spread—on patients’ faces, on exhausted staff, even on worried family members. For a moment, the hospital felt less like a place of recovery and more like a home wrapped in holiday spirit.
“Our mission has always been anchored on care for communities,” shared Patricia Jacinto, Director for Growth and Marketing at foodpanda Philippines. “Through PANDAriwang, we hope to bring comfort and spark moments of joy during the holidays. We don’t just deliver food. We deliver care, especially when people need it most.”
And so, Christmas PANDAriwang continues foodpanda’s long tradition of compassion—of showing up when it matters and reminding communities that kindness can be delivered, too. Cebu is just one stop in a series of holiday efforts, as more foodpanda teams prepare to visit and uplift other communities in the weeks ahead.
This season, in Cebu and beyond, they’re proving that the spirit of giving can travel far—and sometimes, it arrives wearing pink.
